Maryland law establishes the maximum fees for general notarial acts.

In-Person Notarial Acts

$8 per original notarial act
$4 per signature on each additional copy of the same record when signed at the same time by the same signer or signers
IRS business mileage rate × round-trip miles, plus a travel fee not to exceed $5
Current 2026 IRS business mileage rate: $0.725 per mile

TIPIC Closing Support

NV Notary Solutions LLC is available for eligible real-estate closing and loan-signing assignments as a licensed Maryland Title Insurance Producer Independent Contractor (TIPIC).

How It Works

In-Person Mobile Notary

1. Book your appointment
Schedule online or call/text for availability, including same-day or after-hours requests.

2. Prepare your documents
All documents must be completed but not signed before your appointment.

3. Bring valid identification
Each signer must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID.

4. Meet at your location
We travel to your home, office, hospital, or agreed meeting location within the Baltimore area and surrounding counties.

5. Sign and complete notarization
Documents are signed in the notary’s presence and completed during the appointment.

Remote Online Notarization (RON)

1. Book your online appointment
Schedule your session through our booking system.

2. Receive confirmation and upload instructions
You will receive a confirmation email with instructions to submit your completed documents for upload into the secure platform.

3. Access your secure session link
A secure link will be provided to join your notarization session through Proof (formerly Notarize).

4. Complete identity verification
Before your session, you will be required to verify your identity through the platform.
A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID is required.

5. Join your live video session
Meet with your notary online to complete the notarization.

6. Receive your completed documents
Your notarized documents and receipt will be provided through the platform after the session.

Before Your Appointment

To avoid delays or rescheduling:

Documents must be filled out but not signed
All signers must have valid, unexpired ID
All required signers must be present (in-person or online)
For RON: device with camera, audio, and stable internet connection

Compliance Notice

General notarial acts are performed in accordance with Maryland law and applicable regulations. Maryland maximum notarial fees remain fixed at $8 for an original notarial act and $30 for a remote notarial act. Where travel is required for the performance of a notarial act, mileage reimbursement is calculated at the prevailing IRS business mileage rate and the travel fee does not exceed $5.

TIPIC closing and loan-signing services are provided only within the scope of an authorized engagement on behalf of an appropriately licensed and appointed Title Insurance Producer and subject to applicable appointment and bond-coverage requirements.

We provide clear pricing and confirm applicable charges before payment is processed. Payment procedures vary depending on the type of service requested.

Remote Online Notarization (RON)

Remote Online Notarization appointments are conducted securely through Proof, formerly Notarize.

Payment arrangements depend on the transaction type and the payment configuration used for the appointment. Applicable fees will be disclosed before the session begins. Where payment is processed through the Proof platform, the signer will receive the applicable transaction receipt through the platform.

No payment is collected through Square for Remote Online Notarization appointments.

In-Person General Notary Appointments

Prepayment is not required when scheduling an in-person general notary appointment. A payment method may be securely collected at booking to hold the appointment. The final charge is processed only after the requested services have been completed and the applicable fees have been confirmed.

Final pricing may include:

Number of notarial acts
Additional copies of the same notarized record, when applicable
Permitted travel mileage reimbursement
Permitted travel fee

Payment may be completed by:

Charging the authorized card on file through Square; or
Issuing a Square invoice for review and payment

All Square transactions are processed through Square’s secure payment system.

TIPIC Closing and Loan-Signing Assignments

TIPIC closing and loan-signing assignments are coordinated separately from general notary appointments.

Assignment fees are confirmed with the requesting title company, settlement professional, or signing service before the appointment is accepted. Pricing may vary based on the assignment scope, travel distance, printing requirements, scan-back requirements, document-package size, appointment timing, and return-delivery instructions.

Payment terms for TIPIC assignments will be established through the applicable work order, assignment confirmation, or invoice. TIPIC assignments should not be booked through the general mobile-notary scheduling link.
